FROM WEBSITE OWNER If you are thinking of fitting a digital readout (DRO) to your lathe I would like to recommend you contact machine-dro.co.uk I have a myford super 7 and decided to fit a DRO to it. Fitting the transverse scale was straightfoward but not so for the x-slide. I looked at all the options as to where best to fit it and finally opted to fit to the Lt.hand side of the slide. machine-dro.co.uk supply a micro scale which enabled me to do this. I am not connected to this company in anyway but have to say they were a good choice to buy from and having the use of this accessory is extreemly useful. As a keen hobbyist model engineer I would be more than happy to tell you how I fitted mine if you need any help. There is no set way to instal but machine-dro.co.uk do supply a fixing guide for the ML7 (this can also be seen on their website) but I found this was not the best option for the Super 7. hence did it differently. .... This is a sirius that is about 65 years old. built by stuart for the m.o.d. to power the alco firefly generating set, hence the names have been machined off of the sides of the casting. after the war those not used were sold off as surplus, and that is where i believe this one came from, it is fitted with drain taps and lubricator it even has holes in the big end cap screws for locking wire (i used loctite) it has been fitted with a heavier flywheel it runs superbly on a small amount of air. there are no holes drilled in the casting for cylinder lagging. i have no way of running it on steam. for more pictures and a video clip of it running you can email me. p&p; in the uk will be �10
