This is a lovely old horizontal engine with a bore of 0.75” stroke of 1.25” flywheel dia.5” length 11” width5.75” height4” not including wooden plinth weight 4kg.
i believe this to be a model kit by steven’s model dockyard but am not 100% sure so if you know any different please let me know, the reason i say it is a kit is a lot of the parts are numbered so that they match up on assembly, and also a scratch builder would not cast a solid brass base.
every thing on the model is brass except the piston rod and the fixing screws, all the fixing screws were whit worth thread, but they were so corroded that i drilled them out and tapped them to the nearest ba size.
the slide valve was missing i have made a new one very difficult because i did not know what the original looked like, the engine runs fine on compressed air.
there is some wear in the big end i haven’t attempted to rectify this.
