The star engine, it came with, was never sold as a casting kit so this dynamo will have been factory built. While this dynamo will have been used, that was over 50 years ago. And, as a tribute to the quality engineering, the armature turns quite happily..
It produces 4 volts and 1 amp at a speed of 3000 rpm the current is alternating. Body 2.5in diameter, height 3.25in, weight 1lb 12oz.
The body is gunmetal and the spindle is silver steel. The thumb wheel terminals are brass and original. I have not seen this working but there is not much to go wrong on a dynamo.
