Ideal For Steam Boat fully reversible

This engine is a model of a typical steam launch engine used to power steam river launches at the turn of the 20th century. specification: bore 3/4" stroke 3/4" flywheel 2 1/4" height 5 1/2" length 5 1/4" width 4" excluding the wooden base. the engine features: fully ball bearing mounted crankshaft and big end bearings. the crankshaft has substantial counterbalance weights on the crank webs, this makes the engine smoother at high rpm by minimising reciprocating mass vibration. the pistons are constructed using a brass and ptfe combination, and are therefore very light in weight. silicone "o" rings are used for piston rings and also on the steam inlet/exhaust flanges. stephenson's link" reversing gear is fitted to this engine. adjustable steam glands on valve rods & piston rods. displacement lubricator. steam regulator valve. this engine runs very well in either direction. it has been tested on both steam and air, it is powerful and runs well. Turns over at a very slow pace at low pressure - less than 10psi, quite mesmerizing to watch, and at the other end of the scale at 80 psi. it is like an express train with all the power and majesty of a bygone age. this is a powerful engine more than capable of powering a large steam boat up to at least 6 feet in length.physically, the engine is very similar to a stuart turner d10v in size. it is very economical when running so you should get a good period of steaming if fitted to a boat. also this engine would make an excellent display item for the discerning steam collector.
